Founded in 1976, Sichuan Vocational College of Information Technology (SVCIT) is the national high-skilled talent training base, national model vocational college for digital campus construction, provincial demonstrative vocational college, provincial outstanding vocational college, and provincial double-high constructive vocational college. The college has two campuses with a total of 10,127 students and 603 faculty members. It consists of 8 teaching units including School of Electronics and Internet of Things, School of Networking and Communication, School of Software, School of Modern Manufacturing, School of Intelligent Control, School of Humanities and School of Marxism. It offers 35 vocational majors such as the internet of things application technology, software technology, artificial intelligence, industrial robot technology, and e-commerce. It has set up 8 enterprise cooperative schools and 23 enterprise specialized classes.

In recent years, SVCIT has achieved fruitful results in high-quality development. Teachers won 1 national award, and 26 provincial awards in teaching ability competitions, 1 second prize in national-level teaching achievement awards and 1 first prize, 6 second prizes, and 4 third prizes in provincial-level teaching achievement awards. Students received over 100 national prizes among 550 prizes in various skill competitions at the provincial, national, and international levels. It has been recognized as The Third Batch of National Entrepreneurial Incubation Demonstration Base, Provincial College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park, and Provincial Technology Incubator. It led the establishment of the Sichuan Electronic Information Vocational Education Group, and created technology platforms like Ministry of Education-ZTE ICT Industry Innovation Base, and Sichuan Mobile Application Collaborative Innovation Center.

SVCIT actively responded to the Belt and Road Initiative, implementing 6 internationalization projects including international student education, curriculum internationalization, broad global partners, international staff development, overseas school running, and talent delivery. It established cooperation with 42 global partners from 15 countries, enrolled 421 international students from 22 countries, and sent 316 faculty members and 100 students abroad. It was selected as a typical vocational college and an excellent case for international cooperation and exchange at the 6th Education Plus Conference in 2022.
